Shell and SANEC jointly hosted the Shell SANEC Golf Day 2014 at the Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club. Enthusiastic golfers enjoyed a round of golf on the beautiful golf course, followed by a networking cocktail and three course dinner, House of Mandela Wines were served. Guests enjoyed networking opportunities throughout the day. This unique day brought together chairmen, CEO’s and directors from medium to large enterprises and organisations, and their relevant colleagues to entertain, network and play with their co-directors and senior management from a diverse number of industries. The event was attended by high profile executives of Transnet, Royal HaskoningDHV, Heineken, Philips, Smit Amandla, IDS, Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal and Barloworld.
In her key-note speech, Ambassador Marisa Gerards highlighted the business opportunities in SA and the many possibilities for bilateral cooperation in the Netherlands' priority areas in SA (transport logistics, life sciences and health, water, renewable energy and horticulture and agriculture) - specifically so on innovation and CSR which are two things that Dutch companies are strongly committed to. The Ambassador also suggested that companies have networking events at the Residence in 2015. This was applauded loudly by everybody!
