3rd Annual Zambia International Mining and Energy Conference & Exhibition

 

The event is organised by the Association of Zambian Mineral Exploration Companies (AZMEC) Zambia chamber of mines in partnership with AME Trade Ltd. 

 

Building on the success of the previous edition which attracted over 62 speakers, 72 exhibitors and over 600 participants emanating from 30 countries, ZIMEC 2013 will offer a strategic and unrivalled platform to promote investment, engage with all stakeholders, discuss options for the sustainable development of Zambia’s mining and energy sectors and debate the most pertinent issues having an impact on existing and potential investors.

 

ZIMEC 2013 will feature two days of conference sessions, a trade exhibition, round table discussions, industry related workshops as well as touristic and technical site visits.

 

ZIMEC 2013 will gather international investors, industry experts, Zambian decision makers, development partners and donors, as well as other key actors and partners in Zambia’s extractive industries. The event will act as a platform to establish and cement business partnerships.

 

Despite the impact of the global financial crisis Zambia’s economic performance has remained strong. The economic growth has ranged between 6 and 7 percent per annum since 2009, the economy is projected to grow to 7.3% in 2013, while inflation is forecasted to remain in single digits, at 8.5% over all the country is one of the best performers in Sub Saharan Africa and the medium- long term economic outlook appears favourable reflecting prudent monetary policy.
