SANEC Member DesignThinkers Academy and SANEC cordially invites you to a 3-day DesignThinkers Bootcamp in Cape Town. DesignThinkers offer a unique combination of master classes and in-depth knowledge on design thinking tools and methodology, which will be given by a team of internationally recognized and highly experienced design thinking practitioners. Join us for ‘Learning by Doing’ at the DesignThinkers Bootcamp from 18 to 20 March 2015 in Cape Town, with the main objective of guiding participants towards the application of design thinking tools and mindset in their working environment.
WHO ARE THE COACHES?
The following coaches from the business, design and academic world will share their experiences and will guide you or your team on specific design related topics.
Arne van Oosterom, will be your design coach. Arne advises on complex innovation and design projects with industry and national governments. Arne is founder of Design Thinkers Group and DesignThinkers Academy. Professor Erwin Schwella, will be your academic coach.
Erwin Schwella became a full professor at Stellenbosch University in 1992, where he currently is professor in public leadership. He served and still serves as an advisor to all spheres of South African governance and has consulted to international and national executives and governance institutions.
Shelley Freeman, will be your business coach. Shelley has extensive experience in a multinational business environment and leading the Design Thinking team in SAP Africa.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DESIGNTHINKERS BOOTCAMP CAPE TOWN.
During this journey you’ll work closely together with the coaches on the following topics:
1. Applying Design Thinking in a complex business environment;
2. Building empathy inside an organization, using customer feedback, creating insights and translating them into implementable opportunities;
3. Fundamental principles of innovation and Design Thinking;
4. Creating stakeholder and sponsor buy-in;
5. How to successfully develop a culture of design-led innovation.
As a true ‘learning by doing’ experience we will work on ‘the Cape Town Smartcity challenge’. Using DesignThinking mindset and tools we will work on finding new and innovative Service Scenarios that are truly valuable for people living, visiting and working in Cape Town. We will connect to these stakeholders by doing user research and testing prototypes.
