Angola: plenty of investment opportunities for Dutch companies.

“Investors that look for growth, economic stability and political stability can find all of that in Angola”, according to Mrs. Maria Luisa Abrantes, director of ANIP, the Angola Investment Agency. After SANEC’s SADC Ambassadors Lunch in May this year, the Editor-in-Chief of Atlantico Weekly interviewed the director of ANIP about the investment opportunities in Angola for Dutch companies.

Angola has the abundant natural resources that will be needed in the future, including water, which one day may even be more important than oil. Dutch know-how and expertise about water management could help to improve water resource efficiency  for irrigation and make farmers less dependent on rain. Furthermore, Angola would like the help of Dutch companies to create resorts and even some artificial islands along its 1500 km coastline. Last but not least, Angola welcomes Dutch private partner participation in the management of new ports that are now entering construction phase.

Although it is challenging to attract investments in the current international economic climate, there are plenty of opportunities for Dutch investors in Angola. To read the entire interview, please click here.
